Deloris Hendrickson

Deloris Josephine Mary

Hendrickson passed away

at the age of 98 at home in

New Orleans, LA on Nov.

4, 2019.

She was born in

Benedict, ND on Oct. 15,

1921 to Alexander and Sa-

die (Sukumlyn) Harchan-

ko. She grew up in

Benedict and Minot, ND

and received a degree in

education from Minot

State University. Deloris

was united in marriage to

Alvin Carl Hendrickson

on Aug. 10, 1947. They

raised their family

predominately in

Columbus, MT, Crosby,

ND, and Rugby, ND. She

later moved to New Orle-

ans, LA to be with family.

Deloris’ career as an

educator included teach-

ing English and music.

She was well known for

providing private piano,

organ, and voice lessons

to numerous students.

She was very active in

church and community

organizations including

VFW Auxiliary, Circle,

Ladies Aid and was the

church organist for many

years.

Deloris loved butterflies

and flowers and being

with friends and family.

She was a strong, warm

and wonderful lady.

She is survived by her

children David C., Bel-

field, ND and Joel Steve,

New Orleans, LA, her

brother Dr. John A. Har-

chanko, Williston, ND,

two grandchildren and 3

great grandchildren. She

was preceded in death by

her parents, husband, and

sisters Charlotte Robin-

son, Margaret Herzog, and

Helen Davy.
