Lois Haman

Lois Marion Haman, 96,

Towner, died at the Heart

of America Medical

Center on June 30, 2019.

Lois was born in Riga,

McHenry County, North

Dakota on February 10,

1923 to Raymond and El-

izabeth Stewart

Kuhnhenn and graduated

from Granville High

School in 1941. She at-

tended college in Fargo

and obtained a teaching

certificate which she used

in Upham and Balfour.

She married Edward Ha-

man in Towner on July 8,

1945. Mr. Haman died on

November 11, 1955. As a

young widow, she raised

their four children in their

home in Towner. She

managed the Selective

Service office in Towner

and also worked at the

Minot Air Force Base un-

til she retired in 1988. She

lived in Towner where

she was a member of St.

Cecilia Catholic Church

and the Confraternity of

Christian Mothers. She

also was a member of the

Veterans of Foreign Wars

Auxiliary in Towner. Lois

enjoyed gardening, taking

care of her grandchildren,

and family visits. Lois en-

joyed going to the casino,

playing bingo and watch-

ing the Green Bay Packers

on television.

She is survived by her

children Myla (Jerry)

Sjong – Gurnee, Illinois

and Myles Haman –

Towner. She also leaves a

brother, Frederick

Kuhnhenn – Cincinnati,

Ohio and 9 grand-

children, 19 great-

grandchildren,

and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Lois was preceded in

death by her two children

– Myrna Rudland and

Maureen Haman and a

great-grandson Craig Laso-

vage in addition to 5

brothers – Donald, Mau-

rice, Richard, Dale, and

Merlyn Kuhnhenn.

Funeral services will be

held at St. Cecilia Cathol-

ic Church in Towner on

Monday, July 8, 2019 at

1:00 P.M with Rev. Micha-

el Schommer as celebrant.

Visitation will be on

Sunday, July 7 at St. Ceci-

lia Church in Towner

after 6:00 P.M. until the

time of the prayer service

at 7:00 P.M. The casket

bearers will be Kipp Her-

man, Scott Knutsvig, Don-

ny, Robert, and Tim

Kuhnhenn, Dean and

Douglas Sjong.

Memorials are wel-

comed to the St. Cecilia

Cemetery at Towner.
