Georgene M. Corbett

Georgene Corbett, 65,

formerly of Minot, ND,

passed away Tuesday,

July 9, 2019 at Arden

Courts in Northbrook, IL

with her son and

daughter-in-law by her

side.

Georgene Murrien Cor-

bett was born December 6,

1953, the daughter of

Myron and Grace (Burt)

Reck, in Red Lake Falls,

MN. She was raised in

Terrebonne Township

and educated in Mentor,

graduating from Mentor

High School. Shortly

thereafter, she took em-

ployment at JC Penney in

Thief River Falls, MN.

There, she met Douglas

Corbett, a radio broadcas-

ter. They were united in

marriage November 17,

1973 in Red Lake Falls

and after a brief time in

Mason City, Iowa, they

made their home in

Minot.

Georgene was a woman

of many hats and enjoyed

numerous hobbies. She

was an avid cook and

made quite possibly the

best Thanksgiving turkey

stuffing in the world.

Only on very rare occa-

sions could she be seen

without the latest Stephen

King novel within reach.

She was also an avid out-

doorswoman and enjoyed

camping, hiking, bird

watching and canoeing.

Some of her favorite times

and fondest memories

were those spent with

friends and family at their

lake house near Belmont,

Manitoba.

Georgene is survived

by: Her son, Grant Cor-

bett; mother, Grace Reck;

sisters, Shelly Richard

and Claudea Reck; broth-

ers, Milton, Mayo and

Milo Reck; and several

brothers-in-law,

sisters-in-law, nieces,

nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in

death by her husband,

Douglas; and father,

Myron.

Memorial Service:

Wednesday, July 17, 2019,

at 10:30 a.m. at Corner-

stone Presbyterian

Church, Minot, ND.
