Sunday, April 15, 2018, in
a Minot hospital.
Frances Evangeline
Duchscherer was born De-
cember 16, 1919, the
daughter of Andrew and
Rosella (Brossart)
Duchscherer, in Barton,
ND. She was raised and
educated in Balfour, ND.
Frances married Joseph
“Joe” Thomas on October
21, 1940 in Karlsruhe,
ND. They made their
home on a farm north of
Velva. They retired in
1980 and moved into Vel-
va, where Frances resided
until the time of her pass-
ing.
Joe passed away Febru-
ary 23, 2007.
Frances was a member
of St. Cecilia Catholic
Church of Velva, Chris-
tian Mothers and the Vel-
va Senior Citizens. She
was also a former member
of the Knights of
Columbus and the Moose
Lodge, both of Minot.
She enjoyed gardening,
bowling, bingo with her
friends and spending time
with her family. To her
family she was Mother of
the Year, every year.

40 grandchildren; 70
great-grandchildren; 10
great-great-grandchildren;
brother, Jack (Florence)
Duchscherer, Velva; sis-
ter, Lena Richter, MN; and
numerous nieces,
nephews and cousins.
Frances was preceded
in death by: her parents;
husband of 66 years,
Joseph Thomas; sons,
Robert Thomas and
Joseph Thomas, Jr.;
son-in-law, Gerald Abel;
daughter-in-law, Willim-
inia (Billie) Thomas;
grandsons, Tommy
Roehrich and Adam Hard-
ing; great-granddaughters,
Karlea Gall and Jocelyn
Thomas; brothers, Frank,
Eustachius, Anton,
Michael and Joseph
Duchscherer; and sister,
Katherine Ziegler.

eral Home, Velva, ND.
