Kenmare, passed away
Wednesday, March 7,
2018, at Trinity Hospital
in Minot.
Pauline F. Ringen was
born May 25, 1948, the
daughter of Carl and Idell
(Saterlie) Ringen, in
Bismarck, ND. She was
raised and educated in
Kenmare and graduated
from Kenmare High
School in 1966. She furth-
ered her education and at-
tended Jamestown College
and then ND State School
of Science in Wahpeton
for a couple of years.
Pauline married Nor-
bert A. Nielsen January
10, 1968, in Nazareth
Lutheran Church in Ken-
mare. They lived in Ger-
many and California be-
fore making their home in
Kenmare in 1972. Pauline
had worked at JC Penney,
the Kenmare Baptist
Home, Hansen’s
Hardware, and the Ward
County Library in Ken-
mare, retiring in 2013,
after working there for 30
years. On January 10,
2018, they celebrated
their 50th Wedding An-
niversary.
She was a member of
the ReNew United Metho-
dist Church in Kenmare.
She volunteered as a Girl
Scout and a Boy Scout
leader.
She enjoyed reading,
sewing, needlepoint, can-
ning, visiting with family
and friends, camping,
playing games, shopping
and attending her
grandchildren’s activities.
Her loving family in-
cludes: husband of 50
years, Norbert, Kenmare;
children, Holly (Dean)
Brekhus, Minot, and Bra-
dy (Whisper) Nielsen,
Spokane, WA; grandchil-
dren, Spencer, Dawson
and Jarret Brekhus; Ash-
lynn Nielsen, Jason (Bai-
ley), Frank and Joe Chase;
great-grandchild, Charles;
and a few cousins.
Pauline was preceded
in death by her parents.
Funeral: Tuesday,
March 13, 2018, at 11:00
a.m. at Kenmare Church
of the Nazarene, Kenmare.
Interment: North Dako-
ta Veterans Cemetery,
Mandan, ND, at a later
date.
Visitation: There will be
no reviewal, but friends
may sign the register book
on Monday from 6 to 7
p.m. at ReNew United
Methodist Church in Ken-
mare.
Prayer Service: Monday
at 7:00 pm at ReNew Unit-
ed Methodist Church in
Kenmare.
