Ronald “Ron” Hartvikson

Ron, age 70, was born

on February 6, 1947 to

Gordon and Agnes (Aares-

tad) Hartvikson in James-

town, ND. Ron’s faith

was the most important

thing in his life and made

his choice to serve God at

a young age and contin-

ued faithfully all of his

life.

He grew up on a farm

near Jamestown and gra-

duated from Jamestown

High School in 1965. He

graduated from Valley

City State University in

1969. Ron married Nancy

Evanson from Forman,

ND in 1969. Together they

raised two children,

Matthew and Mia, in

Thompson, ND.

He worked for over 30

years as a pharmaceutical

representative for 3M. He

died at home in Thomp-

son surrounded by family

and friends on December

30, 2017 after his coura-

geous battle with eso-

phageal cancer for over

four years. He was pre-

ceded in death by his

parents.

He is survived by: his

wife, Nancy, son Matthew

of Bemidji, MN and

daughter Mia of San Lean-

dro, CA and very special

friends Paul and Robin

Severud and their three

sons, Joshua, Noah and

Daniel of Grand Forks,

ND. He is survived by si-

blings, sister Linda (Jim)

Sorenson of DeQueen,

AR, sister Roberta (Lyle)

Overby of Jamestown, ND,

and sister Ann (Rick)

Overby of West Fargo,

ND, brother-in-law

Richard Evanson (Kelly

Fix) of Fargo, ND,

sister-in-law Emma Lou

Evanson of Moosomin,

SK, sister-in-law Betty

(Darryl) Justesen of De-

troit Lakes, MN, and

sister-in-law Marilyn

(Duane) Williams of

Olathe, KS, his uncle

Wilfred Aarestad of

Jamestown, ND, and 18

special nieces and

nephews and their fami-

lies. He is also survived

by many other relatives

and close friends.

Funeral Service will be

held: Saturday, January 6,

2018 at 1:30 p.m. at the

Alerus Center Ballroom 5,

1200 S 42nd St, Grand

Forks, ND 58201. Please

use Door # 4 for the ser-

vice.

Visitation: will be held

Friday, January 5, 2018

from 5 to 7 p.m. in

Amundson Funeral Home

and will continue 1 hour

prior to the start of the

service at the Alerus

Center.

Burial: will be held at

Thompson City Cemetery.
