Marilyn “Sis” Luchsinger Butler

Marilyn “Sis” Luchs-
inger Butler died peace-
fully in her home in
Newberg, Oregon on June
10, 2017 at the age of 81.
She was surrounded by
her loving family and
caregivers. She was born
July 28, 1935 in Minot,
North Dakota.
After graduating from
Surrey High School she
attended two years at
Minot State College. Later
she worked as an Office
Manager in Minot for
Crane and Ordway
Plumbing. She married
James Stewart Durbin in
1955. They had two
daughters, DeeAnna and
Nancy. James and she di-
vorced in 1968.
In 1972 she and her two
daughters moved to
Salem, Oregon where she
worked for the State of
Oregon Worker’s Compen-sation Department for 10
years processing worker’s
compensation claims.
She retired in 1981 in ord-
er to assist her husband,
George Milton “Milt”
Butler, in his business
ventures. They purchased
a 42 acre farm where they
lived for 30 years.
She enjoyed crocheting,
sewing, reading and shop-
ping with her daughters.
She created beautiful
blankets, sweaters and
dolls with her crocheting
skills, and sewed much of
her own clothing. She en-
joyed gardening and yard
work keeping her large
farmhouse yard beautiful
year-round. She also en-
joyed playing piano and
listening to piano and
classic country music.
Most of all she loved her
daughters, grandchildren,
great-grandchildren and
family with all her heart
and soul.
She was preceded in
death by her parents Earl
and Ruth Luchsinger, her
husband, Milt Butler, her
eldest brother Paul Luchs-
inger (Bev, deceased) and
her youngest brother
Donald Luchsinger (Lois).
She is survived by her
daughters DeeAnna Lam-
bert and Nancy Gisler, her
son-in-law Gary Gisler,
her grandchildren Mitch
Lambert (Jennifer), Keith
Lambert, Patrick Lambert
and Marilyn Lambert
(Tom Wood), great-
grandchildren Hailey
Lambert, Rilyn Wood and
Karley Wood. Her surviv-ing siblings are Curtis
Luchsinger (Jill), Burton
Luchsinger, Milton Luchs-
inger (Dee), Ken Luchs-
inger and Leone Brusven
(Dale, deceased).
Her family and friends

Marilyn has joined her
loved ones in heaven. If

of the Brethren Cemetery,
Surrey.
