Dr. Paul Freiberg

Dr. Paul Freiberg,
Minot, died Sunday,
March 12 at the age of 78.
Dr. Freiberg was born in
Brooklyn, New York on
October 8, 1938 to Samuel
and Muriel Freiberg. He
attended school there, gra-
duating from New York
University with a B.A. in
science. He attended med-
ical school at the Univer-
sity of Louvain, Louvain,
Belgium earning his M.D.
degree. He did residencies
at Maimonides Medical
Center, Brooklyn, NY
with specialties in Inter-
nal Medicine and
Hematology/Oncology.
Paul joined the Navy
and served as Instructor
and Supervisor of medical
residents in the Hematolo-gy department at the Unit-
ed States Naval Hospital,
Philadelphia, PA. Upon
his discharge from the
Navy, he served as an at-
tending physician in
several hospitals in the Ft.
Lauderdale area. He
served as Clinical Assis-
tant Professor in the On-
cology Department at the
University of Miami
School of Medicine,
Miami, FL. He was Board
Certified in Internal Medi-
cine, Oncology, and
Hematology. He moved to
Minot in 1987 where he
practiced Oncology and
Hematology until his re-
tirement in 2013.
Paul was an avid gar-
dener and he thoroughly
enjoyed time spent with
his dogs. Paul was a gour-
met cook and enjoyed
cooking for friends. He
took cooking classes in
Italy as well as in many
other locations.
Survivors include: his
wife Diane, his sons Marc
(fiancee Suyin Phillips)
and son, Asher, Honolulu,
HI; and Ronald, Delray
Beach, FL; brothers Jack
and Richard; and sister
Roberta Estar.
Paul was preceded in
death by his parents and
brother, Arthur.
Visitation: There will be
no reviewal, but friends
may pay their respects
