Des Lacs-Burlington, Bottineau and Renville County winners

The Region 3 softball tournament played several games at the Scheels Softball complex and local teams, as well as those traveling punched the ticket to continue into the winners bracket of play.

Renville County 16, Divide County 6

The Mavericks were 15-for-33 as a team as Renville County moved on in the winners bracket of the Region 3 softball tournament. Marleigh Henry was a perfect 4-for-4 in the game with three RBIs and was walked once. Addison Mach, Ginger Savelkoul and Nevaeh Juntunen were each 2-for-4 in the game while Taya Aufforth was 2-for-5 batting. Olivia Ogaard pitched seven innings and allowed six runs on seven hits with an earned run tally of two. She walked three batters and struck out four in the game.

Divide County was 7-for-29 as a team. Elydie Johnson was 3-for-4 and pitched five and one-third innings in the effort. She walked five batters and struck out four in the game. Each team ended up with four errors.

Ray 13, Tioga 2

The Ray Jays were 11-for-37 as a team batting and committed four errors compared to Tioga’s seven errors and moved on in the winners bracket with the 13-2 win.

Ray senior Madox Falk, sophomore Autumn Bloms and junior Gretchen Hickel each were 2-for-4 at the plate for Ray. Falk pitched seven innings and allowed two runs on four hits with an earned run stat line of zero and struck out 12 batters.

Tioga freshman Karlee Poff was 2-for-4 in the loss and the Pirates were 4-for-29 as a team batting. Junior Katherine Haakenson pitched seven innings and allowed 13 runs on 11 hits with an earned run mark of five. She walked three batters and struckout eight in the loss.

Des Lacs-Burlington 21, Rugby 0

The Lakers were 16-for-28 batting in their matchup with the Rugby Panthers in Region 3 tournament play. Eighth grader Piper Feller was 3-for-3 in the game for the Lakers while seniors Shaylie Holen and Mya Neshem were 2-for-3 and senior Zannah Bjerlie was 2-for-4 at the plate. Freshman Sierra Yale pitched four innings and allowed no runs on three hits while Feller was in for one inning of relief and allowed no runs on one hit.

Rugby went 4-for-19 in the effort. Sophomore Audrina Ratajczyk was 2-for-2 and senior Kayedyn DeMontigny and freshman Braelyn Cannot each were 1-for-3 batting. Freshman Livvy Johnson pitched four innings and allowed 21 runs on 16 hits with an earned run tally of 20 in the effort.

Bottineau 12, Bishop Ryan 2

Bottineau jumped out to an early 4-0 lead at the bottom of the first inning and never gave up the lead. As a team, Bottineau was 15-for-30 at the plate and junior Kaia Hennings pitched four and two-thirds innings and allowed two runs on three hits. She walked five batters and struck out ten in the game.

Juniors Alena Hall, Rylie Deeter and eighth grader Cambree Zwak each had a hit for the Lions who were 3-for-21 batting. Sophomore Kirstin Brunner pitched five and one-third innings and allowed 13 runs on 15 hits with an earned run mark of 11 in the game.

Bishop Ryan 13, Rugby 7

In their second game of the day, Bishop Ryan was 14-for-33 batting against the Rugby Panthers who were 14-for-35 at the plate. Getting a bat on the ball in the right moments was the difference in scoring runs.

Hall was 4-for-4 with four RBIs in the game while Deeter was 3-for-3 batting. Brunner and junior Violet Demars were both 2-for-4 at the plate. Brunner pitched another seven innings and allowed seven runs on 14 hits. She walked no batters and struck out seven in the game.

For Rugby, freshman Avery Johnson went 3-for-3 and Au Ratajczyk was 3-for-4 at the plate. Sophomore Tailyr Bush was 2-for-3 and sophomore Alexandria Ratajczyk went 2-for-4 in the game. Al Ratajczyk also pitched six innings and allowed 13 runs on 14 hits. She walked only two batters and tallied ten strikeouts in the effort.
