Annabelle “Bickie”
(Schoener) Riehm,
daughter of Walter and
Ann Schoener, was born
in Chicago, Illinois on
March 10, 1928. She
passed away January 26,
2017 in Bend, Oregon at
the age of 88.
Annabelle is survived
by: her children Richard
Riehm (Karen) of
Chandler, AZ, Kathryn
Martinez of Altadena, CA,
Christine Kongelf (Rick)
of Del Mar, CA, and Patri-
cia Kelly (Kevin) of Bend,
OR, siblings Butch
Schoener of Fargo, ND,
Bud Schoener of Maple
Grove, MN, and Pat
Schoener, also of Maple
Grove.
She is preceded is
death by: her sister
Corine Schoener and her
husband, John Riehm.
Annabelle married John
in Watertown, South
Dakota on March 30,
1948. Over a period of
five years, the couple wel-
comed four children into
their home. They moved
to Minot, North Dakota in
1959 where she raised her
children and worked on
her golf game at the Minot
Country Club.
In 1976, they moved to
Lake Metigoshe, ND,
building their home on an
island. In 1989, the cou-
ple moved to their retire-
ment home in Kino Bay,
Mexico. John passed only
two months later, leaving
Annabelle to finish the
home and walk on the
beach with her fun-loving
girlfriends.
The later years of the
“posture queen,” a perfec-tionist who enjoyed paint-
ing, puzzles, knitting, and
sewing, were spent with
her youngest daughter in
Bend, Oregon. Her ashes
will be scattered at sea
where she will join her
late husband.
