William Dyke

William Miles Dyke, 93

of Plaza, ND passed away

December 18, 2016 at a

Minot nursing home.

William, known as Bill

or Billy was born March

20, 1923 in Shealy Town-

ship, son of Charles and

Ellen (Hemke) Dyke. He

attended Lund Township

School and then worked

the family homestead

with his three brothers,

Mahlon, Dallas, and

Arthur.

On November 30, 1946,

William was united in

marriage to Rose Marie

Rohrbouck in Minot, ND.

They made their home

two miles east of the Dyke

homestead, with Bill con-

tinuing to farm with his

three brothers. Bill was

active on the Lund Town-

ship board and the Plaza

School board. He was also

a lifetime member of the

Royal Order of the Moose

Lodge of Minot, ND. Bill

and Mahlon owned a two

passenger airplane which

they enjoyed flying.

Bill and Rose both en-

joyed hunting and fishing

and took many trips to

Rocky Lake in Canada.

Wednesday and Saturday

nights were spent at the

Moose Lodge playing

bingo and dancing. In ad-

dition, Bill spent many

winter nights gathered

around a pool table with

his brothers and neigh-

bors. For the last year and

a half, Bill especially en-

joyed his last little pride

and joy, his youngest

great grandchild Mia.  She

was very special to him

and he always looked for-

ward to her daily visits.

William is survived by

his daughters, Patricia

(Tony) Guszak of Alli-

ance, NE; Ellen (Danny)

Hoffer of Milpitas, CA;

and Angela (Lonnie)

Bergeson of Plaza, ND;

seven grandchildren,

eight great grandchildren;

sister, Florence (Leroy)

Quandt, and numerous

nieces and nephews.

William was preceded

in death by his wife,

Rose; son, Charles;

daughter, Charlotte; his

parents; sisters, Delma

and Corinne; and broth-

ers, Delbert, Mahlon, Mar-

vin, Arthur, and Dallas.

Visitation: Friday, Janu-

ary 6, 2017, from 2 p.m.

until 4 p.m. at the

Thomson-Larson Funeral

Home, Minot where

friends may sign a register

book.

Private inurnment will

take place at St. Elizabeth

Catholic Cemetery, Mako-

ti, ND.
