Marvin Streich

Marvin Streich, 77, Minot, passed away Monday, March 30, 2015, at Trinity Hospital in Minot.

Marvin Lynn Streich was born July 1, 1937, the son of Herman and Norma (Walstad) Streich, in Maxbass. He was raised and educated in Maxbass and graduated from Maxbass High School. After graduation, he attended Wahpeton State School of Science for six months for mechanics.

Marvin married Barbara Hamel July 2, 1960, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, in Maxbass. Following their marriage, they made their home in Williston where Marvin worked at a gas station. They later moved to Minot, where he worked at the Otts Dairy Farm. Then they moved to Maxbass, and he drove truck for Koch Refinery in Westhope. They moved to Mohall in 1982, and he started his own trucking company, Streich Trucking. He continued trucking until the time of his death. He was happiest when driving truck and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed going to all of their activities.

He was a former member of St. Jerome’s Catholic Church in Mohall and was currently a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Minot.

Surviving family includes: wife of 54 years, Barbara, Minot; daughters, Tammy (Bob) Fraley, Cottage Grove, Minn., Darcy Voeller, Minot, Malissa (Mark) Hatlestad, West Fargo, and DeAnn Streich, Minot; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Richard (JoAnn) Streich, in Washington, and Michael (Vickie) Streich, in Montana; sister-in-law, Julia Streich, Minot; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Marvin was preceded in death by: his parents; and a brother, Gary.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10 a.m. Monday, April 6, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot.

Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot.

Visitation: noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 4, at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Vigil Prayer Service: 5 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
