Lydia Morlock

Lydia Morlock, 91, of Minot, formerly of Pettibone, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at her home in The Wellington.

Lydia (Martin) Morlock was born May 14, 1923, on the family farm 10 miles south of Tappen to Margaretha (Mittleider) and Fred Martin Sr., of Tappen. She attended rural country school in Valley Township. Lydia married Theodore “Ted” Morlock, of Pettibone, June 29, 1943. They farmed northwest of town for 39 years then retired and built their home in Pettibone. They enjoyed visiting with friends and neighbors, playing cards and gardening. Lydia was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Pettibone. She moved to Bismarck in January 2006. She kept her home in Pettibone until June 2008. While living in Bismarck Lydia volunteered with RSVP and the Baptist Nursing Home. Lydia moved to The Wellington in Minot in June 2013 to be closer to her daughter and family.

Lydia is survived by: her children, Delilah (Mervin) Thompson, Lyndon Station, Wis., Allen Morlock, Yuma, Ariz., and Connie (Steven) Irey, Surrey; five grandchildren, Tilman Thompson, Thomas (Julia) Thompson, Troy Thompson, Stephanie (Wayne Hagel) Irey and Eric Irey; two great-grandchildren, Aiden Irey and Liberty Thompson; three sisters, Tabea Mueller, Esther Guthmiller and Norma Poole.

Lydia was preceded in death by: her husband, parents, five sisters and six brothers.

A funeral service will be: 3:30 p.m. Saturday, March 14, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Pettibone.

Burial will be at: Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery, Pettibone.

Visitation will be: 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. today, Friday, at Bismarck Funeral Home with her sister by her side.
