Law enforcement across North Dakota issued 3,604 citations during the Click It or Ticket enforcement campaign throughout May. According to the North Dakota Department of Transportation, the campaign focused on increasing seat belt use and encouraging personal responsibility to reduce serious injuries and fatalities on North Dakota roads. A total of 2,536 citations were issued for seat belt violations and 31 for child restraint violations. The first case involving murder or manslaughter from Ward County was tried in Minnewaukan in January, 1887. Elmer Fosberry (or Fausberry), a teamster, had shot and killed contractor Frank Finnie at a corral near Gasmann Coulee on Monday, August 23, 1886. At his trial, held on Thursday, January 20, 1887, Fosberry was found guilty and sentenced to four years in prison. Minot man dies in UTV crash with vehicle

A 73 year old Minot man driving an UTV sustained fatal injuries in a crash with a passenger car on U.S. Highway 2 on the east side of Minot on Tuesday, June 16, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol. The Highway Patrol reported a 2022 Can Am Maverick X3 UTV took the wrong way down an off-ramp and then traveled westbound in the eastbound lane of Highway 2. A 2017 Cadillac XT5, driven by a 60 year old Minot man, was eastbound on Highway 2 when it collided with the UTV head-on. The driver of the UTV sustained fatal injuries. Homeownership program eligibility limits updated

BISMARCK – North Dakota Housing Finance Agency (NDHFA) announced it has adjusted eligibility limits for programs that assist state residents, typically first-time buyers, with a home purchase.
