Health resource center to hold grand opening

NEW TOWN – The Community Health Resource Center (CHRC) in New Town will hold a grand opening Thursday, June 4. According to CHRC information, the grand opening will be from 1-3 p.m. at 1293 Elbowoods Loop. The center was built to house a myriad of programs for children, adults, elders and families in a more centralized location. The building is also home to the Three Affiliated Tribes Health Administration, Elbowoods Memorial Health Center (EMHC) Executive Team and the following from EMHC, Tribal Health and tribal programs. New Town man dies in two-vehicle crash

PALERMO – A 22-year-old New Town man died in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 2, about 5 miles east of Palermo Monday, June 1. According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, about 12:07 a.m., a 2008 GMC Sierra, driven by the New Town man, was traveling south on 67th Avenue Northwest. A 2020 Ford Expedition, driven by a 59-year-old Minot woman, was traveling east on Highway 2. The Sierra failed to yield to the Ford and the front of the Sierra struck the rear driver's side of the Ford. The driver of the Sierra was pronounced dead at the scene.
