OMAHA, Neb. – July runoff in the Missouri River Basin above Sioux City, Iowa, was 2.0 million acre-feet (MAF), 61% of average. Runoff was below-normal to well-below-normal in the Fort Peck, Garrison, and Oahe reaches due to lack of precipitation, dry soils, and below-average mountain snowpack. BISMARCK – North Dakota Health and Human Services (HHS) announced it has been awarded a $6 million federal grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to expand community-based behavioral health services for children, youth and families in north central and southeastern North Dakota.
