BOTTINEAU - Dakota College at Bottineau Athletics will honor three inductees at an awards recognition banquet on Saturday, Oct. 10, in a semi-private event at the DCB gymnasium.
The selection committee for the Lumberjack Athletic Hall of Fame has chosen Dennis Lagasse, Gary Warren and the 2008 Men's Hockey Team as 2026 recipients.
Lagasse has demonstrated countless hours of volunteering for athletic and college events. His commitment to the Logrollers includes more than 20 years of service as president. Through his leadership role and continued support, he has made a lasting impact on the college and its community.
The 2008 Men's Hockey Team, coached by Travis Rybchinski, had a remarkable season. The team had a 20-9-2 record and went on to win the 2008 NCAA National Championship. That win marked a back-to-back national championship while having four NJCAA All-American team members.
Gary Warren was the Lumberjack hockey coach from 1984-2001. Coaching the Lumberjacks to three national championships, nine national runner-ups and eight Region XIII championships. With a legacy defined by championship standards and an enduring impact on the community, he cemented his place among the icons of the game. Warren cannot attend the October presentation. He will be recognized at a home men's Lumberjack hockey game.
