NDHP identifies those in Minot crash

The North Dakota Highway Patrol has identified those involved in a motorcycle-vehicle crash occurring on North Broadway in Minot Sunday, Oct. 4. Ashton Hawker, 21, of Florida, died from injuries received in the crash. He was the driver of a motorcycle that struck the rear of a Chevrolet Silverado pickup pulling a boat. Kevin Meland, 52, Burlington, driver of the pickup, and passenger Jacob Meland, 25, Minot, were not injured.

A 21-year-old Florida man died from injuries received in a motorcycle-vehicle crash on North Broadway in Minot Sunday, Oct. 4. According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, about 8:44 p.m., a 2024 Kawasaki motorcycle, driven by the Florida man, was traveling north at a high rate of speed on U.S. Highway 83 in the 3800 block of North Broadway. The motorcycle struck the rear of a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado that was towing a boat.
