Florida man dies in motorcycle-vehicle crash

A 21-year-old Florida man died from injuries received in a motorcycle-vehicle crash on North Broadway in Minot Sunday, Oct. 4.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, about 8:44 p.m., a 2024 Kawasaki motorcycle, driven by the Florida man, was traveling north at a high rate of speed on U.S. Highway 83 in the 3800 block of North Broadway. The motorcycle struck the rear of a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado that was towing a boat. The motorcycle came to rest in the east ditch, and the pickup came to rest on the highway.The motorcycle rider was wearing a helmet, according to the Highway Patrol.

The motorcycle rider was transported to a Minot hospital with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced deceased.

The driver of the Chevrolet, a 52-year-old Burlington man, and a passenger, a 25-year-old man from Minot, were not injured. Both were wearing seat belts, according to the Highway Patrol.

The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
