Head Start hosting coat drive

Head start in Minot will be holding a coat drive during September, though coats are not the only needed donations. The greatest needs are snowpants sizes 2T-7/8, snow boots sizes toddler 5-13 and youth 1-5, coats sizes 3T-7/8 and warm cold-rated gloves. The donation timeline is Sept. 1-30, and the drop off location is Qdoba, 1700 S. Broadway, Minot. Head Start is expecting more than 100 donations and is hoping for extras for the families of the children it will be helping. Clothing can be brand new or gently used. BISMARCK – The Forest Service-Dakota Prairie Grasslands encourages families, schools and communities nationwide to take part in the Every Kid Outdoors program, a national initiative that provides U.S. fourth grade students and their families free entry to more than 2,000 federal lands, waters and national parks for a year. Stanley receives water infrastructure loans

STANLEY – Stanley has been granted $650,000 in loans from State Revolving Fund programs for phase three of a capital improvement project that includes street reconstruction and watermain and sanitary sewer main replacements to reduce operation and maintenance costs and improve system reliability, according to the North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality and the North Dakota Public Finance Authority. HHS gives notice of security breach

The North Dakota Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is providing notice of a security incident that involves protected health information (PHI) of certain Developmental Disabilities service recipients. On July 21, the North Dakota Information Technology Department (NDIT) identified a phishing email attack targeting HHS. NDIT acted immediately to stop the phishing email attack. WILLISTON – TrainND Northwest at Williston State College is encouraging veterans, active-duty military members, members of the National Guard and Reserves, and eligible military family members to take advantage of a grant-funded opportunity to earn a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Silobration set for Friday in downtown Minot

The Silobration Street Dance will be held on Friday, Aug 28, in Citizens Alley. The second annual event celebrates North Dakota’s largest mural that was completed in the fall 2025 on the retired grain silos at 318 1st St. NE in downtown Minot. The event runs from 7-10:30 p.m. Live music from the Chloe Raye Band will start at 7:30 p.m. The meat raffle offers $1,000 in prizes.
