Minot State University Summer Theatre continues Season 61 on Tuesday, July 14, with its third production of the summer, “School of Rock,” directed by Jacob Jenkins.
Inspired by the hit Jack Black movie with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, this Musical Theatre Camp production of the high energy musical tells the story of Dewey Finn, a failed rock star “wannabe” who poses as a substitute teacher at a prestigious school to be able to pay his bills. Once there, he transforms a class of straight-A students into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band. Starring local youth, this family friendly edition is sure to be a chart-topping sensation among audiences of all ages.
Performances are July 14-17, and begin at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are available online at msusummertheatre.com, or call the box office at 858-3228. There will also be an American Sign Language interpreted performance opening night on Tuesday, July 14, sponsored by the Minot Sertoma Club. Deaf and hard of hearing guests are asked to contact the box office at 858-3228 for more information on reserved seating for this performance.
