City council elects new president

Stephan Podrygula was elected president of the Minot City Council at a reorganizational meeting held Monday, July 6.

Podrygula, along with other new council members Eric Locken and John MacMartin, were sworn in to office Monday. Podrygula, who has previous experience on the council from past service, was elected president on a 4-3 vote over the sitting council president, Mike Blessum. MacMartin was unanimously elected vice president.

Mayor Mark Jantzer and Municipal Judge Ashley Beall also took oaths of office following re-election to their positions in June.
