BOWBELLS – A 72-year-old Kenmare man died from injuries sustained in the crash of the truck he was driving and a BNSF train Thursday, May 28.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, at 4:21 p.m., a 1978 Ford dump truck, driven by the Kenmare man, was traveling eastbound on 93rd Street Northwest near 69th Avenue Northwest in rural Bowbells. The truck drove across railroad tracks as an incoming BNSF train approached. The truck was struck by the train while crossing the tracks.

The name of the Kenmare man has not been released yet. The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol
