WATFORD CITY — A 63-year-old Watford City woman died from injuries received in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of U.S. Highway 85 and 23rd Street Northwest, 1 mile south of Watford City, Saturday, April 25.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, about 1:33 p.m., a Peterbilt semi, driven by Lance Dirk, 62, Dickinson, was traveling south on Highway 85, approaching the intersection of 23rd Street Northwest. At the same time, a Jeep CJ-7, driven by Tracy Christensen, 63, Watford City, was traveling east on 23rd Street Northwest toward Highway 85.

As the Jeep entered the intersection, it was struck by the semi. Dirk was not injured. Both drivers were wearing their seat belt.

Highway 85 was closed in the area of the crash for nearly 4 hours.

The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
