Grants available to serve at-risk populations

GRAND FORKS – Applications are now being accepted for the Gibbens Memorial Grant, to be used for health, welfare, social service or educational purposes for at-risk populations.

The grant honors NDAD co-founders, Faye and Ron Gibbens and their vision to always help individuals in need. Inspired by their son, Mike, who was born with cerebral palsy, the North Dakota natives built NDAD from a small Grand Forks parental support group to a statewide charitable nonprofit helping children and adults with a variety of disabilities and health challenges.

The grant deadline is April 30. Applications are available from NDAD.

Past recipients have used grant money to promote and foster inclusivity within school settings, for equine therapy to reduce anxiety and depression, to develop inclusive playgrounds, safety programs for individuals with developmental disabilities and more.

Starting at $2.99/week.
