Area airports receive federal improvement grants
WASHINGTON – The Federal Aviation Administration has awarded $17.9 million in funding for 20 airport infrastructure projects across North Dakota through the Fiscal Year 2026 Airport Improvement Program, according to U.S. Sen. John Hoeven, R-ND., a member of the Senate Transportation Appropriations Committee.
Among projects supported by the funding include:
– Devils Lake Regional Airport, $2.6 million to rehabilitate runways and taxiways.
– Rugby Municipal Airport, $1.3 million to rehabilitate runway and taxiway.
– Carrington Municipal Airport, $900,000 to reconstruct runway, taxiway lighting and approach systems.
– Williston Basin International Airport, $830,000 to replace snow removal equipment.
– Crosby Municipal Airport, $600,000 to construct new aircraft storage hangar.
– Rolla Municipal Airport, $530,489 to reconstruct runway, taxiway and lighting systems, and replace lighting vault equipment.
– Bottineau Municipal Airport, $95,000 to design new aircraft hangar.
– Stanley Municipal Airport, $57,000 for design work to reseal runway, apron and taxiway pavements.
