The Minot Honeybees were having a rough night on Monday, June 22, in their last of a six game series versus the Wausau Ignite, but lightning and heavy rain forced the league to cancel the game, moving it to Saturday, July 18, in Wausau, WI.

The night started with the Ignite taking the lead in the top of the first inning, leading Minot 1-0 after the Honeybees earned just one hit in the bottom of the inning.

The Ignite expanded their lead in the top of the second inning, staring with a one run home run over the left field fence and another three run home run later in the half.

The Ignite brought their lead up to 7-0 before the Honeybees could secure their third out.

The Honeybees went three up and down in the bottom of the second inning and the Ignite scored three additional runs in the top of the third inning before nearby lightning strikes forced a 30 minute delay of game. The weather did not let up after the initial delay, forcing the game’s cancellation in the top of the third inning with the Ignite leading 10-0.

The Honeybees and the Ignite will face off again on Saturday, July 18, in Wisconsin.

Starting at $3.75/week.
