National School Choice Week celebration held at state capitol
BISMARCK – Americans for Prosperity-North Dakota (AFP-ND) hosted “The Power of Choice: An Education Celebration” at the North Dakota State Capitol on Tuesday, Jan. 27, joining thousands of Americans nationwide to celebrate National School Choice Week and highlight AFP-ND’s commitment to establish a well-rounded education landscape in the state.
According to AFP-ND information, the event featured parents, educators and students as speakers who shared firsthand how school choice has changed their educational experience for the better. Rep. Ben Koppelman of West Fargo also joined the event to hear student perspectives.
“Every North Dakotan student deserves an education model that works for them, not a one-size-fits-all system that works for some. Education freedom means the next generation of our state’s leaders are better prepared for North Dakota’s future challenges. Getting it right for our kids is paramount. We look forward to driving grassroots efforts on school choice and would encourage the Legislature to continue expanding school choice options for students across the state,” AFP-ND State Director Justin Forde said in a released statement.
