Alzheimer’s Association to offer free class on caregiving
GRAND FORKS – The Alzheimer’s Association will offer a free virtual presentation, “The Empowered Caregiver: Communicating Effectively,” on Aug. 21 from 1-2 p.m.
The class is designed to increase caregiver confidence while reducing stress. It offers helpful ways to approach the responsibilities of caring for someone living with dementia using a person-centered approach. The class teaches how dementia affects communication, including tips for communicating well with family, friends and healthcare professionals.
The project is funded through the North Dakota Department of Health and Human Services, Adult and Aging Services Section. Registration is required by contacting the Alzheimer’s Association Minnesota-Dakota Chapter.
