Minot man charged for alledged offenses against minors
A Minot man has been arrested and charged with multiple alleged offenses against minors.
Caleb J. Valles, 20, made his initial appearance in North Central District Court in Minot on Friday, on charges included gross sexual imposition-victim of a minor, a Class A felony; two counts of luring minors by computer, two counts of corruption of a minor; and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, all Class A misdemeanors.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, a victim reported a sexual assault to the Minot Police Department on April 6. The victim alleged an adult male named Caleb brought the victim to his residence to watch a movie and drink alcohol, and that they were sexually assaulted.
The victim said they had been messaging on a social network app for about a week. Messages provided to law enforcement showed the victim shared their age with Valles, and he shared his location before meeting the victim.
Police were able to locate a vehicle matching the description provided by the victim at the residence location shared in the app, and the suspect was identified as Valles.
A search warrant was submitted to the social messaging app for Valles’ account, which located data for additional communications by Valles with additional victims between March 21-April 7. Two additional victims were identified and interviewed by law enforcement, who alleged Valles pressured them for photos and to meet at his home for alcohol and sexual activity. The third victim alleged Valles had brought them to his residence on multiple occasions to engage in sexual activity.
Valles is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on Thursday, July 10.
