No injuries after concrete mixer truck tips over on highway on-ramp

Angie Reinoehl/MDN A concrete mixer truck is tipped over at the exit from U.S. Highway 52 onto U.S. Highway 2 on the east side of Minot Thursday.

The on-ramp from U.S. Highway 52 onto U.S. Highway 2 was briefly closed Thursday morning after a concrete mixer truck tipped on its side as it turned into the exit.

North Dakota Highway Patrol officers and Ward County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene. No injuries were reported.

Highway Patrol Sgt. Mike Brown said the truck tipped after the driver took a tight turn. Removal of the mixer was slightly complicated after the concrete it contained began to set within it, and the ramp was briefly closed to allow wrecker vehicles to access it.

The incident is being investigated by the Ward County Sheriff’s Department.
