Minot Parks to hold maple syrup making class

The Minot Park District is offering to the community a class on the art of maple syrup making on Saturday, April 6, from noon-3 p.m. at Moose Park.

Participants will have the opportunity to explore various facets of maple syrup production, including tree selection and identification, the tapping process and supplies, as well as the boiling process and finishing touches. Throughout the class, attendees will be treated to maple-flavored delights, including cotton candy, maple candies and maple root beer/cream soda.

The highlight of the event will be the chance for attendees to witness and even sample fresh maple sap as it undergoes the transformative process in the boiler.

Maple Syrup Making 101 class will commence at 1 p.m. with activities including history lessons, tree identification tutorials, tapping demonstrations and more. The class is for everyone from the beginner to seasoned enthusiast.
