Burglary investigation leads to pursuit

A burglary investigation by the Minot Police Department led to a pursuit in southeast Minot late Saturday.

About 10:07 p.m., officers responded to a possible burglary at a residence near Rosehill Memorial Park. Once officers arrived on the scene, they discovered a vehicle with a person inside. They had reason to believe the vehicle occupant was involved in the burglary. Officers attempted to make contact with the occupant, but the occupant fled.

The suspect, Charissa M. Tillia, 31, Minot, led officers on about a five-mile pursuit throughout southeast Minot. The Ward County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the successful deployment of a tire deflation device. Tillia continued driving several blocks before exiting the vehicle and continuing to flee on foot. Officers apprehended Tillia after the short foot pursuit.

Tillia is charged with driving under suspension, third offense, a Class B misdemeanor; reckless driving, a Class B misdemeanor; and fleeing/attempting to elude a police officer in a motor vehicle, a Class C felony. Tillia is being held at the Ward County Jail. The burglary is still under investigation.
