Man dies in crash south of Minot
A 57-year-old Stevensville, Montana, man died in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of U.S. Highway 83 and N.D. Highway 23, 18 miles south of Minot, on Wednesday.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, about 1:40 p.m., a Chevrolet Silverado pickup going east on Highway 23 and driven by the Montana man, failed to yield to a southbound Freightliner truck on Highway 83, driven by a 57-year-old Bismarck man. The Freightliner attempted to brake but struck the crossing pickup. The driver of the Freightliner was wearing his seat belt and was not injured. Currently, it is not known if the pickup driver was wearing a seat belt. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under the investigation of the N.D. Highway Patrol. Names of the drivers were not released.
