Injury crashes occur in Minot, nearby area

Two people have been injured in two separate vehicle crashes in Minot and nearby area in recent days.

The first incident involved a Minot man who was injured in a collision between the motorcycle he was driving and another vehicle on U.S. Highway 2 between Minot and Surrey on Sunday.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Aaron Presnell, 37, was driving his 2006 Harley-Davidson motorcycle at the intersection of Highway 2 and 79th Street Southeast where he allegedly failed to yield at the intersection. The motorcycle struck an eastbound Ford Edge being driven by a juvenile female from Surrey. The driver and passenger of the Ford Edge were wearing their seat belts and sustained no injuries. Presnell was not wearing his helmet. He was transported to Trinity Hospital for injuries received in the crash. The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.

The second incident occurred on U.S. Highway 83 Bypass at the intersection of 30th Avenue Northwest shortly after 10 a.m. on Tuesday.

A 2015 Jeep Cherokee driven by a 42-year-old Minot man was traveling east from 30th Avenue Northwest attempting to turn south onto the bypass in Minot. When attempting to make the turn, a 2006 Dodge Ram pickup driven by a 22-year-old woman from Minot, traveling south, struck the Jeep on the passenger side. The collision caused both vehicles to roll on their sides.

The Jeep’s driver and two passengers, a 34-year-old woman and a 10-year-old girl, both of Minot, were not injured. They were wearing seat belts. The pickup driver was injured and transported by ambulance to Trinity Hospital in Minot. She was not wearing a seat belt. Names of those involved in the crash were not released yet. The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
