NEW TOWN – The Three Affiliated Tribes — Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation — and Consolidated Construction Co., Inc., based in Bismarck, will hold a celebration on Friday at 2 p.m. at the Elbowoods Memorial Health Center Campus in New Town to honor a new specialty healthcare facility to serve the MHA Nation.

A ground blessing ceremony for the MHA Public Health Nursing/Community Health Building will kick off the construction phase of the project. The ceremony is open to everyone and will be held rain or shine.

The MHA Public Health Nursing and Community Health Building will serve a projected 8,427 Native Americans living on the Fort Berthold Reservation communities. The Elbowoods Memorial Health Center Department of Public Health will concentrate, improve, expand and enhance preparedness and response capacity needs for a number of services. Each service provides a unique program designed to assist, educate and improve the health of the Fort Berthold service population.
