FDHU to end COVID-19 testing in Minot

Due to the significant reduction in demand, the last day of COVID-19 testing at First District Health Unit in Minot will be Friday. Recent assessment has found that a dedicated testing site is no longer the best use of resources.

Public health will continue to evaluate case numbers and the need for testing. Observed self-administered antigen tests will still be available by appointment at other First District offices. This type of test is valid for unvaccinated individuals traveling to Canada.

First District recommends people with COVID-19 symptoms see their medical provider or use an at-home test to determine their status. At-home test kits are also recommended for close contacts to positive cases. Free test kits are still available at all First District locations. No appointment is needed to pick up a test kit in the Minot office. Please call ahead to pick up test kits in the Bottineau, Bowbells, Garrison, Kenmare, McClusky, Mohall, Towner and Washburn offices.

There are several options available in Minot and the surrounding area for people who need to be tested for travel. Visit www.fdhu.org to see a list of options.
