NIAGARA – The North Dakota Highway Patrol said a Rugby man has died from injuries received in a one-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 2, about three and a half miles east of Niagara. The crash occurred Jan. 12.

John Gustafson, 74, driver of a 2004 Ford Expedition, lost control of the vehicle on the frost/ice-covered road. He was taken to a Grand Forks hospital and died later, the patrol said. Laverne Gustafson, 89, also of Rugby, a passenger in the vehicle, had minor injuries.
