Brian Parry, Grand Forks, charged with intent to deliver methamphetamine

Brian Lee Parry, 43, Grand Forks, has been charged in district court in Mountrail County with Class B felony intent to deliver methamphetamine and Class C felony possession of drug paraphernalia, both on Jan. 5.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court, Parry was stopped on Highway 23 east of the bypass, on the Fort Berthold Reservation, by MHA Nation drug enforcement. Parry was stopped for failing to use a turn signal properly to change lanes. An agent thought Parry was behaving suspiciously during the stop. A police dog sniffed around Parry’s vehicle and alerted to the presence of illegal drugs. A search of the vehicle turned up several plastic bags containing suspected methamphetamine, a digital scale, and a meth pipe. The Mountrail County Sheriff’s Department was called to the scene because Parry, who had an Oregon driver’s license, is not an enrolled tribal member.

Parry made an initial appearance on the charges on Jan. 7 in district court. Bond was set at $10,000 cash or corporate surety. A preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for Feb. 3 before North Central District Court Judge Todd Cresap.

Starting at $2.99/week.
