Minot man charged with drug delivery

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Nov. 5 for a Minot man charged with delivery of methamphetamine, a Class B felony. Deangelo Cornelius McKee, 37, was charged in August based on an affidavit of the Ward County Narcotics Task Force filed with North Central District Court. Kean Tevell James, 28, was charged with accomplice to deliver methampetamine, a Class B felony, based on the June 1 incident involving the task force and a confidential informant. James’ preliminary hearing also is scheduled for Nov. 5.

Assault results in 10-year sentence

A Minot man has been sentenced to serve no less than two years for a February aggravated assault that resulted in serious bodily injury, a Class C felony. Samuel Tyler Mauck Velasquez, 34, Minot, was sentenced to 10 years with the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and must serve three years, with a minimum mandatory sentence of two years and credit for 231 days served. Charges filed in intentional fire

A Minot woman faces multiple felony charges in connection with an alleged intentional duplex fire that resulted in serious injury. Tonya Kate Legard, 56, is charged with four counts of endangering by fire or explosion-danger of death or bodily injury-extreme indifference, a Class B felony. She also is charged with aggravated assault-permanent loss or impairment, a Class B felony, in connection with the Oct. 9 incident. ND airline boardings break September record

BISMARCK – North Dakota’s eight commercial service airports established a new September boarding record with 104,380 passengers, the North Dakota Aeronautics Commission reported. This surpassed the previous September high of 103,559 passengers set in 2025. The record was achieved despite a reduction in available airline capacity, according to the commission. BISMARCK — Ward County Engineer Dana Larsen was elected third vice president of the North Dakota Association of Counties at its annual conference on Oct. 13 in Bismarck.
