Christopher Vickerman found guilty of murder of his father

Christopher Alan Vickerman, 31, Minot, was found guilty by a jury on Monday of the May 10, 2019, Class AA felony murder of his father, Mark Vickerman, 55.

Ward County State’s Attorney Roza Larson said that no sentencing has yet been scheduled.

Mark Vickerman was found shot to death at his Minot residence. Father and son had a strained relationship, based on testimony at court hearings, and had argued over business, money, and custody of Christopher Vickerman’s children. Mark Vickerman had told friends that his son is mentally ill and not medicated. Mark Vickerman told several people he was afraid his son would try to kill him.

The murder trial began last week before Judge Doug Mattson.

Christopher Vickerman has been held in custody at the Ward County Jail since shortly after the murder.
