Eric Laine Rouse, 35, Minot, was sentenced on Sept. 2 to 10 years in prison, all suspended but two years, and three years of supervised probation, for Class B felony possession with intent to deliver fentanyl and Class B felony possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine. He was also ordered to obtain a chemical dependency evaluation and to pay court costs of $775.
Charges are still pending against his co-defendant, Cheyenne Rose Marie Swain.
According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court, the Ward County Narcotics Task Force obtained a search warrant for a Minot residence in August after they received a tip that Rouse was at the woman’s residence with fentanyl for delivery. Rouse was found lying in the hallway in front of the bathroom. No water was working in the house. Officers found baggies containing a combined 10 grams of methamphetamine inside a cigarette package that was floating in a clogged toilet. When Rouse was searched at the Ward County Jail, he had 0.4 grams of fentanyl in foil packets on his person.
