Paige Holmes, Terez Melhouse, Tyree Melhouse indicted on federal charges of intent to distribute fentanyl

Paige Rebekah Holmes, 24, of Minot, and Tyree Dominique Melhouse, 29, and Terez Malik Melhouse, 23, both of Detroit, Mich., have been indicted by a federal grand jury with conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute heroin-fentanyl compounds between about 2015 and April of this year in North Dakota and elsewhere.

Holmes and Terez Melhouse were also indicted by the grand jury on a charge of possession with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl.

Holmes and Terez Melhouse had originally been charged in district court in Minot with Class A felony possession of 73 grams of fentanyl with intent to deliver and Class C felony possession of drug paraphernalia. Those charges were dismissed after the federal indictments were handed down.

According to court documents in the state case against Holmes and Terez Melhouse, the Ward County Narcotics Task Force obtained a search warrant for a northwest Minot residence on Aug. 14 and forced entry after Terez Melhouse asked who was there and peered out the window. At that point Terez Melhouse allegedly ran to the bathroom and flushed a bag of fentanyl down the toilet. Holmes was in the shower at the time. Both Holmes and Terez Melhouse were arrested. When Terez Melhouse was searched, police found $5,048 in the pockets of his jeans. Police also found assorted drug paraphernalia.

A jury trial is scheduled for Dec. 7 in federal court in Bismarck.
