Eloise Ogden/MDN Berry Acres Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze, west of Minot along County Road 15, has activities for families to enjoy this fall season.

Braycen and Paislee Hedstrand both agreed they really like the Corn Box at Berry Acres, west of Minot. Braycen explained the Corn Box is a place to jump around in.

Despite the wind and colder temperture on Wednesday, Braycen and Paislee, children of Samantha Lundy and Bradley Hedstrand of Minot, spent some time with their mom at Berry Acres Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze.

“I loved it,” said 6-year-old Paislee.

“It was fun, said 8-year-old Braycen.

They’ve been to Berry Acres before but this was their first time this year, said Samantha.

Eloise Ogden/MDN Braycen Hedstrand, 8, and Paislee Hedstrand, 6, hold pumpkins they have picked out to purchase and take home during a visit to Berry Acres Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze, west of Minot, on Wednesday.

Before they left, they picked out pumpkins to take home to carve for Halloween.

Berry Acres, owned by Calvin and Ashley Berry, is in its 10th season. “We missed one (season) because of the flood (in 2011),” said Ashley.

Each year Berry Acres has a new theme and this year’s theme is “Toy Story” said Ashley.

“All the characters out there are the theme of ‘Toy Story,'” She said kids love having their pictures taken with the giant bale characters.

Visitors enjoy coming back each year to see the different themes.

Eloise Ogden/MDN Giant bales with characters of “Toy Story” painted on them stand at Berry Acres, west of Minot. Ashley Berry painted the characters on the bales.

“It’s fun to grow each year and make it bigger, and try to find new ideas for something new to add each year,” said Ashley.

Several local businesses are sponsors of activities at Berry Acres including Trinity Health, Scheels, Premier Chiropractic, Dakota Kids Dentistry and Bountiful Preschool.

Berry Acres opened on Sept. 12 of this and, depending on the weather, will remain open until Oct. 31.

“We’ve had great weather for a whole month now so people have been taking advantage of it,” said Ashley. Due to the forecast they will not be holding extra activities this weekend.
