Bryce Molina sentenced to five years for theft, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief, fleeing police

Bryce Anthony Molina, 27, Minot, will serve about five years in prison for ramming two Burlington police department patrol vehicles on Oct. 8, 2019 with a stolen 2016 Jeep Renegade and fleeing from police at speeds approaching 115 mph.

The sentences are concurrent for the Class B felony theft of property, Class B felony criminal mischief, Class C felony fleeing police and Class C felony reckless endangerment charges. He was sentenced to 10 years, with a requirement that he serve five years, for each of the Class B felonies and five years for each of the Class C felonies. He will be on supervised probation for three years following his release. He will receive credit for 175 days already served.

North Central District Court Judge Gary Lee also ordered Molina to pay $125 in court costs and reserved restitution in the case for 90 days.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed with the court, a friend of the owner of the stolen vehicle had spotted the vehicle in Burlington and called the police. The police chief and the deputy police chief could see the stolen vehicle from their office window and approached the vehicle. Molina turned and fled from the police chief. Molina rammed the deputy police chief’s patrol vehicle when the deputy chief activated his lights and pulled around in the opposite direction. The police chief gave chase and Molina rammed his vehicle as well and tried to run him off the road. Law enforcement ended the chase when they determined it was not safe for the public. Minot police located the stolen vehicle later that day in Minot and placed Molina under arrest.
