The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Office of Rural Development has awarded Tribal College Initiative Grants to two area tribal colleges, according to Sen. Kevin Cramer.

– Nueta Hidatsa Sahnish College received $144,949 to construct a One Stop Student Services Area for its campus in New Town. The project will renovate an unused portion of the main college building into new offices and student meeting areas providing students efficient and accessible services.

– Turtle Mountain Community College received $137,702 to improve site accessibility at their campus in Belcourt. The project includes the replacement of asphalt and concrete surrounding the campus buildings to provide increased accessibility and safety for students.
