ND senators comment on Dems debate

Senators Kevin Cramer and John Hoeven and Congressman Kelly Armstrong commented on the Democratic primary debate.

The debate with a portion of the candidates was held Wednesday evening at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in Miami.

“They were not talking to me, but I hope every Democrat in North Dakota took advantage of the opportunity to listen and learn. As for me, I watched the Twins beat the Rays and had an enjoyable evening,” said Cramer.

Armstrong said, “I didn’t have the opportunity to watch the debate because I was playing in the bipartisan Congressional Baseball Game and raising $1.3 million for charity, which was a significantly better use of my time.”

Hoeven said, “It’s up to the Democrats to determine their candidate, and then ultimately the American people to decide who gets elected to office, Democrat or Republican. Obviously, my approach is different than what we heard last night. I believe we need to secure our border and I believe in a limited government that empowers people.”

More Democratic candidates were scheduled to debate Thursday night in Miami.
