More dollars are desired and still being sought, but the Minot Fireworks Association says they’ve raised enough money to put on a fireworks show on the Fourth of July. However, said spokesman Adam Dyess earlier this week, they are “looking for a few extra thousand dollars” to reach their goal to put on the complete fireworks show as originally planned.

While approximately $11,000 had been raised as of a few days ago, the total remains less than the goal of $15,000. The bulk of the donations have come from businesses. Individuals have also donated to the Minot Fireworks Association. The group has a Go Fund Me account where individuals can donate any amount of money.

The fireworks show planned by the association will take place at the State Fairgrounds following the completion of Nodak Race Club races on July 4th.
