Terrance Steele III, 19, New Town, receives deferred sentence for making out with 14-year-old

Terrance Marlon Steele III, 19, New Town, was given a deferred imposition of sentence and unsupervised probation for making out with a 14-year-old girl he picked up at the North Dakota State Fair in July.

Steele, who had initially been charged with Class A felony gross sexual imposition, pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of Class A misdemeanor contributing to the delinquency of a minor on Wednesday in district court in Minot. Court records show that Judge Richard Hagar gave him the deferred sentence for 360 days of unsupervised probation, ordered him to stay away from the girl, and to pay $900 in court costs. The charge will be dismissed if Steele successfully completes probation.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed with the court, an officer spotted Steele’s car in the north parking lot of Oak Park early on the morning of July 22. The teenagers had been making out. The girl’s mother had previously ordered Steele to stay away from her daughter because of the difference in their ages.
