Join Boy Scout Troop 425 for an Eagle Scout ceremony

Submitted Photo Devyn Bollinger will be Boy Scout Troop 425’s 93rd Eagle Scout. A part of Boy Scouts since 2012, he has gained a variety of awards and badges in his time.

On Saturday, Boy Scout Troop 425 of Minot will celebrate Devyn Bollinger becoming their 93rd Eagle Scout during a 1 p.m. Eagle Court of Honor at the Congregational United Church of Christ. A reception is to follow the Court of Honor.

Bollinger is the son of Jill and AJ Forbes of Minot and Derek Bollinger. He is a freshman at Minot State University where he is starting his studies to become a nurse practitioner in pediatrics. As a 2018 graduate of Minot High School, Bollinger was involved with the Minot Air Force JROTC and the Spanish, French and Arts Clubs. He has volunteered his time at the YMCA Rodeo and at the YMCA pool teaching autism swimming. The past summers he worked at the Triangle Y Camp in Garrison and he is currently working at Trinity Nursing Home as a Certified Nursing Assistant. His hobbies are enjoying the outdoors camping, hiking, and fishing.

Bollinger’s Scouting career began in 2012 at Yokota Air Base, Japan. In September 2014 as a ninth grader, he joined Boy Scout Troop 425.

Bollinger has held the following leadership positions in his Troop: Scribe, Quartermaster, Assistant Patrol Leader, Chaplain Aide, Patrol Leader and Assistant Senior Patrol Leader.

He has earned 21 Merit Badges and the following special awards: Ironman, Paddle Board, Troop Meeting Perfect Attendance Award in 2015 and 2016, and Troop Camping Perfect Attendance Award in 2015 and 2016.

Bollinger has earned 66 days and nights of camping with Troop 425 which includes three Summer Camps at the Northern Lights Council Camp Wilderness along with two Tomahawk District Camporees and two Klondike’s. In the summer of 2015, Bollinger attended the week-long National Youth Leadership Training at Camp Wilderness. In 2016 and 2018, he attended the Troop High Adventure Canoe Trip to the Boundary Waters.

He is also a Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow, which is the BSA’s Honor Society of Campers.

Bollinger’s Eagle Scout Project involved planning, organizing, coordinating, advertising and hosting a Blood Drive that collected 24 units of blood from many youth and first-time donors for Minot and the surrounding areas.
